Leak detection and automatic safety response for hydrogen
The EMS, our Emission Monitoring System, watches every critical point of your plant and acts the moment a leak appears.
What we do
EMS Emission Monitoring System: our own monitoring system, developed in-house and configured to each site.
Hydrogen storage safety: continuous monitoring of hydrogen stored in enclosed spaces, to help prevent dangerous build-up and possible explosions.
Automatic response: the EMS can trigger safety actions such as valve shut-off or fire suppression without waiting for an operator.
Why hydrogen needs dedicated monitoring
Hydrogen is the smallest molecule, so it escapes through seals, joints and fittings that hold other gases. It is also flammable across a wide range of concentrations in air. In an enclosed space, a small leak can build up into a serious hazard. Early detection and a fast, automatic response are essential.
The EMS range
- Mini EMS: 10 control volumes
- Standard EMS: 50 control volumes
- EMS with HMI display: detailed information shown to the user directly on screen
Every system is configured to the customer’s site, layout and safety requirements.
How it works
1. Map: we divide your installation into control volumes, the monitored zones around tanks, pipework and equipment.
2. Monitor: the EMS checks each control volume continuously and shows where a leak is occurring.
3. Respond: when a threshold is crossed, the EMS raises an alarm and can trigger valve shut-off or fire suppression.
